Woof! Meow! One thing before you go…
Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?
Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!

Adoptable Pets in Tennessee
(report broken link)
The Humane Society of East Tennessee is a non-profit animal welfare organization dedicated to helping companion animals find good homes. We rescue dogs and cats (and other animals) from local municipal shelters that euthanize and we accept animals from the general public. EVERY animal we rescue stays with us until it is adopted and we never euthanize one animal to make room for another. Each animal we rescue is spayed or neutered, vaccinated, tested, dewormed and microchipped prior to adoption. Our adoption fees range from $75.00 - $150.00 and include the above mentioned services as well as free lifetime micro-chip registration.
