Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!
No-kill shelters do wonderful work, but as a result, are often inundated with pet surrenders. In the unfortunate scenario that you have to find a new home for your pet, please read through the rehoming solution and articles on this page before contacting the shelter.

I have three kittens approx 8 weeks old...they were abandoned by their Mom.....They are completely litter box trained already! ADORABLE and sweet....one is a bit timid....they all NEED A FOREVER HOME and LOTS OF LOVE! Please contact me at [email protected] if you have any interest!
We have a stray female long-haired tabby cat - super friendly, super sweet, and obviously once someone's pet. Mama cat has four FERAL kittens - 3 are just now being weaned, and 1 looks to be 9 months old or so. We've been feeding mama cat for 2-3 months, and I guess she felt safe because overnight on night this past week she moved all 4 of her kittens to live under our small outbuilding. We are providing food and water for all five cats, but we cannot keep any of them. We are retired and travel often and the house sitter will not be responsible for the cats. Can you help us with who we can contact to trap these feral kittens and find them, and their mother, a good home or homes? They are super cute, and we don't want them to die from coyote attacks, hawk attacks, or kill shelters. Thanks.

Hi have a dog in my neighborhood an she is a rottweiler she is super sweet but the people who owner her have her chained on a short chain an the rarely feed her. i can tell bc u can see her ribs an she eats her food quickly. I went to check on her a couple mins ago an the people who owner feed her pepperoni an chicken broth an chicken bones which is very unhealthy an last night she was still chained up an it was freezing. It looks like she was supossed to guard their boat. she super kind but she scared alot. I was wondering if someone could pick her up an get her to a family who really cares for their animals I can't take her my parents would kill me if i brought another dog home.
