Peis and Strays
Woof! Meow! One thing before you go…
Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?
Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!

Peis and Strays is a non-profit all-volunteer organization. It was established by a small group of individuals in the New England area with the intent of helping Chinese Shar Pei find loving homes.
Peis and Strays relies strictly on donations, fund-raising activities and adoption fees for its income. We do not receive any state or federal funds and all donations are used for the benefit of the dogs in our adoption program. Our Organization is a 501(c)3 public charity, so donations are tax-deductible.
Our governing Board is comprised of volunteers, and is actively involved in the strategic planning and goal setting for the organization. Each board member is kept abreast of the operations of the organization and the progress of all rescues, adoptions and fund raising projects. All board members possess a keen awareness of the rescue mission and clearly represent the dedication, knowledge and commitment to bring about successful endings for each dog in our care.
