Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!
No-kill shelters do wonderful work, but as a result, are often inundated with pet surrenders. In the unfortunate scenario that you have to find a new home for your pet, please read through the rehoming solution and articles on this page before contacting the shelter.

They use Facebook a lot to announce found pets that aren't microchipped. A couple of months ago they announced a pet and then within a day or two announced they had happily found the owner.

They have a huge team of dog walkers and fosters. Volunteers also come in to socialize and feed the cats. They also do laundry and clean the area.

The staff is very knowledgeable and they also have a network of vets they work with. They have written documents to describe care policies that they give to foster volunteers.

They have a strong foster care team. In 2014 they fostered something like 300 kittens. The kittens that come out of their foster program are friendly, playful, and healthy. I often go to the shelter just to play with them.

Our Foster Care volunteers are so important to the dogs and cats. We need volunteers who can open their home to Baypath animals who may require special care (health reasons), are too young (kittens and puppies) or who may become too stressed to be in a shelter environment.

Am a senior. Looking to give a dog a loving home. I would like to adopt a dog who was surrendered by previous owner who died or became ill. I have another dog who is looking for a buddy as well. On a fixed income. adoption fees can be pretty hefty. I would give it lots of healing and love. Must be good with kids. Do babysit my grand kids often. Hope to hear from you soon. Text me-5082220440.
