Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!
No-kill shelters do wonderful work, but as a result, are often inundated with pet surrenders. In the unfortunate scenario that you have to find a new home for your pet, please read through the rehoming solution and articles on this page before contacting the shelter.

My name is Elizabeth Malone and I would like to volunteer in your shelter. I am a retired RN and would be honored to help your vet w spays or neutering or to do anything else needed. I have 2 dogs of my own and have loved and cared for dogs all my life. Please contact me and let me know what I can do to help. 901-319-2632.
I am also sending u a check because I know how expensive dog and cat food is now.
I live on 5 fenced acres and would consider fostering a pregnant animal or one that needs fostering. Please call me and let me know what I can do to help. I live in Piperton.
