Miss Dixie's Kitten Rescue
Woof! Meow! One thing before you go…
Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?
Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!

Miss Dixie’s Kitten Rescue is a 501©3 nonprofit dedicated to saving the lives of sick, injured and orphaned neonatal kittens in Upstate, South Carolina.
Left to the elements, most orphaned kittens cannot survive on their own, and need specialized care and medical attention in order to thrive. We are a network of foster homes dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and adoption of these orphaned kittens. From our state-of-the-art critical care nursery to our loving foster homes, the kittens at Miss Dixie’s receive proper and prompt medical care for all ailments and are well-socialized for adoption.
To date, Miss Dixie’s Kitten Rescue has taken in over 500 kittens and cats, adopted 435 into loving forever homes, and transferred 28 animals to rescue partners north for adoption. We have a 95% survival rate of kittens in care. Meaning, 95% of all kittens and cats that come into our care survive and are adopted into their forever homes.
