Woof! Meow! One thing before you go…
Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?
Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!

It is our mission to find loving homes for the animals seized by the Humane Society or awarded by the courts due to Cruelty, Abuse, or Neglect.
We are a non-profit organization with a volunteer staff. We do not receive tax dollars of any kind. We rely on donations and volunteers to keep our shelter running. We take pride in a clean facility and the fact that our animals are tame, friendly and healthy. We are separate from the Pickaway County Dog Shelter. We deal mostly with cats and the dog shelter deals with only dogs. Sometimes we do have dogs from cruelty cases, meaning they have been abused, neglected, or abandoned.
