Woof! Meow! One thing before you go…
Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?
Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!

Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?
No-kill shelters do wonderful work, but as a result, are often inundated with pet surrenders. In the unfortunate scenario that you have to find a new home for your pet, please read through the rehoming solution and articles on this page before contacting the shelter.

Foster Care

Noah's Ark is sometimes in need of loving foster homes to care for animals on a temporary basis. Foster homes provide baby kittens and puppies a loving place to stay with their moms until they are ready to be spayed, neutered and adopted into loving homes. Foster home families also provide important socialization for these precious animals, getting them ready for their new lives!
Fostering an animal is an ongoing volunteering opportunity. Kittens and puppies stay in foster homes 2-6 weeks, and sometimes longer if needed. Foster homes must have a separate room to house their foster animals, limiting the possibility of disease transmission. Foster families must be willing to spend time every day socializing their fosters in addition to providing food, cleaning and transportation for medical services. A home visit is required prior to being accepted into the foster program.
Being a foster parent takes a lot of dedication and effort, but saving lives in this way is extremely rewarding!
