Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!
No-kill shelters do wonderful work, but as a result, are often inundated with pet surrenders. In the unfortunate scenario that you have to find a new home for your pet, please read through the rehoming solution and articles on this page before contacting the shelter.

Omg!! All the pets are beautiful and the place is a beautiful place for the animals. EXCEPT....SUE!!! Talk about being a total B! She gave me a s dirty looks, she talked very snotty to us! She acted like she didn't think we knew anything in fact she made us feel stupid! We have dogs and cats. And knew what we wanted . I have been out to the humane society before but she was not there. But today SUE was. If she us there the next time we go in there I will walk out. No one should work in a loving place but treat customers the way she treated us. My daughter loved the dog we played with. But this Sue lady kept making us feel like we were doing something wrong or else the attitude of " well duh you should know that!" I adore everyone else there but every time she's (Sue) there she just is really cold and snotty to us. I told my daughter I'll get her a dog from somewhere else. I hate that she gets away with acting like that to your customers! I heard from a couple other people that she treated them the same way. So it's not just me. Oh if one of the other girls or Stacie walked into the front room she changed her attitude. But the minute it was just us she was back to giving us dirty looks or being snotty. We love Syble and the other staff and walkers. But Sue behind their backs is a " B"!!!!!!! Carole Witt
