Etowah Valley Humane Society (Cartersville)

I have worked with feral cats for some time. I am shocked that Bartow claims to have a TNR program. They were supposed to implement one, but never had. The director that runs the animal control right next door to Etowah will flat out tell you they don't and they don't honor a tipped ear. PLEASE note that Etowah takes no pets in. They have to be surrendered right next door at animal control. NO pet is allowed to adopted at animal control. Only certified pet rescues can get them out of animal control and even then they have to go next door to process and pay for them in this very crooked practice. And animal control does euthanize. Feral cats especially.

They do not assist with such programs

They allow third party traveling clinics to come in and place a sign and phone number at their location, but in no way do they use any of their budget to assist.

Do not think they offer any of these programs. The closest they come is when they allow Project Catsnip to stage their mobile unit there.

The rescue groups are doing ALL of the heavy lifting here. It is a great way for them to profit and falsely claim no-kill.

I cannot comment on this

Once again the rescue groups are doing all the heavy lifting as many of them have foster volunteers. They pay a price though to Etowah though to rescue and foster which is humanely wrong on their part.

IF they make it out of animal control Etowah does offer adoption at a pretty hefty price.

Sick or feral... kill them. That's all I can say.

Once again they are letting rescue groups do the heavy lifting and basically rest on their laurels and take credit.

Because Etowah and the animal control work hand in hand I have to mention that animal control does not allow visits or volunteers. Once they are over at Etowah they do, but do not champion.
