Woof! Meow! One thing before you go…
Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?
Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!

Adoptable Pets in Rhode Island
(report broken link)
To date Little Rhody Rescue and it’s affiliates have adopted over 12,000 shelter dogs to loving wonderful families.
Little Rhody Rescue is a 501(c)3 non-profit dog rescue and quarantine facility located in Rhode Island, we strive to find safe homes for abandoned and neglected dogs. We are made up of a small group of friends who share a love for dogs, with Kate Healey Dubuque being the founder and President of the rescue. All of our dogs are rescued from animal shelters in Tennessee that are considered to be “high kill” shelters. We now are also assisting our pals in Louisiana as well!
They are then tested for disease, spayed and neutered, micro-chipped, vaccinated, de-wormed and administered preventions for fleas, ticks and heart worm. We are licensed in the states of Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine.
