Woof! Meow! One thing before you go…
Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?
Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!

Adoptable Pets in Rhode Island

We are among the largest all-volunteer rescue organizations in New England. Our president has been involved in rescue for over 35 years, and we believe that every dog is important and deserving of a loving home regardless of age or state of health. We have a special interest in senior and special-need dogs, and are a resource for local vets and animal control officers for dogs that need extra care and attention to get them ready for adoption. We save dogs from all over the country, but prioritize our local dogs and dogs under 35 pounds. All of our dogs are in loving foster homes – we don't have a physical shelter. We were able to save and find homes for 1112 dogs in 2o17. We hope to save even more this year!
