Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!
No-kill shelters do wonderful work, but as a result, are often inundated with pet surrenders. In the unfortunate scenario that you have to find a new home for your pet, please read through the rehoming solution and articles on this page before contacting the shelter.
IMPORTANT: This form is only for public comments about the shelter. To contact Chickasha Animal Shelter, please go directly to their website (link on previous page), this form will not send your comment to them.
There are two abandoned dogs at the intersection of Sandrock Rd and County line. This is 2-3 miles west of highway 76. They have been there all day and look very underfed. I hope someone sees this and will rescue them as I am unable to do so😭

I have a 3 year old male Maltese and a 5 year old Malshi (maltese/shiztzu) that are bonded and must stay together. Their owner recently passed away and trying to find a good home for these two small sweet dogs. Please call me at 405-274-5150 if you are interested in giving these sweet dogs a good home.
Have you found a home for your dogs yet? I am looking for a dog that doesn't shed and a Maltese would be perfect. I would not mind taking them both. I am 63 y/o and retired so they would have a wonderful home with lots of love. please let me know.
