Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!
No-kill shelters do wonderful work, but as a result, are often inundated with pet surrenders. In the unfortunate scenario that you have to find a new home for your pet, please read through the rehoming solution and articles on this page before contacting the shelter.
IMPORTANT: This form is only for public comments about the shelter. To contact Houlton Humane Society, please go directly to their website (link on previous page), this form will not send your comment to them.
Hey guys I'm Lisa Wilson your border neighbour. I live in Woodstock I also help with rescue with DunRomin Stray and Rescue. I have several baby blankets soft ones you might be able to use. I also have lots of dishes, toys and other items. If you need these items please contact me as I would love to help also have loads of leashes collars and harnesses if you need. Not sure what I can bring across but sure they wouldn't have problem with these things. We are all here for this great cause . Might even be able to bring some fog things like warm blankets. Food I have to purchase there and I know you could use that and litter as well. Lisa Wilson 506-3283816 home number e- mail ssga1212 @ hotmail.com we are just 10 min from ypu
