Woof! Meow! One thing before you go…
Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?
Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!

The Humane Society Waterville Area takes great pride in helping pets find their forever homes. We provide adoptions for dogs, cats, pocket pets and more. We always have a wide variety of pets available for adoption.
Did you know that adopting a pet from the shelter is much more cost effective than purchasing one from a pet store or breeder? You save money on the cost of the pet along with spay/neuter and vet fees. All pets adopted from our shelter are fully vetted, spayed or neutered and microchipped.
Since 1970 the Humane Society Waterville Area has provided safe refuge for animals that would otherwise be homeless. We are a no kill shelter.
