Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?
Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!

The Purpose of Rock City Rescue is:
1. To rescue animals from situations that are abusive, endangering or neglectful.
2. To rescue animals in danger of being euthanized at area shelters/pounds.
3. To provide necessary veterinary care and treatment to the animals in our care.
4. To place homeless and rescued animals into RCR-approved foster homes until permanent homes can be secured.
5. To place rescued animals into permanent adoptive homes.
6. To educate and promote the importance of spaying/neutering.
7. To educated the public on how to help prevent animal cruelly and neglect.
8. To engage in other activities related to animal rescue in our community.
Rock City Rescue was established in late 2012 by experienced rescuer, Casey Carter, after spending five years in the animal rescue world. Since Nov 2012, we have rescued over 250 pets!
Rock City Rescue is a registered 501(c)(3) Charity. We became a non-profit corporation on February 21, 2013. On July 11, 2014 we were determined by the IRS to be qualified as a 501(c)(3) charity. We receive no funding from the federal, state, or county governments, nor from any corporate entity. We operate solely on private donations and volunteer efforts. Rock City Rescue is an all volunteer network of rescuers, fosters, and volunteers who work together to rescue, rehabilitate, and find homes for sweet, loving, adoptable dogs from pounds in the rural South.
