Woof! Meow! One thing before you go…
Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?
Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!

Annex Cat Rescue began in 1997 as a group of volunteers living primarily in the Annex neighbourhood in Toronto, Ontario, Canada but have grown to include members throughout the city. We are a 100% volunteer run, not for profit registered charity (871653945 RR0001), with no office or shelter, and receive no government funding. We rescue homeless cats and place them in temporary foster homes. They receive all necessary veterinary care including de-worming, vaccination and spaying/neutering. Through fostering we provide a loving environment in a real home. We have a no-kill policy; cats remain in foster care until a permanent home is found.
