Colne Valley Cats Protection
Woof! Meow! One thing before you go…
Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?
Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!

We do not put down healthy cats and will treat sick cats and find them new homes. We cover Braintree and Halstead and surrounding areas.
We are a small branch run by a committee of volunteers and our primary aim is to safely and appropriately rehome cats and kittens within our area. We also carry out trapping/vaccinating and neutering of feral cats before releasing them back to a safe place. We do not have a central rehoming shelter, so our cats in care are placed with our small team of dedicated fosterers in and around the North Essex area.
We also seek to alleviate the problem of unwanted cats, by offering information and advice about responsible cat ownership and promoting the benefits of neutering and are often able to assist towards the costs of this.
