Woof! Meow! One thing before you go…
Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?
Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!

Adoptable Pets in Wyoming

We are here to serve and provide a safe place for Pinedale citizens and pets. We assist with public safety by ensuring that animals have appropriate vaccinations through licensing and by minimizing public contact with nuisance animals.
We enforce Town animal ordinances pertaining to our leash laws, cruelty to animals, impounding of dangerous/vicious animals, and investigation of animal bites.
You might also see us driving around town in our Dog Truck. We pick-up and contain stray, sick/injured, feral, and/or unwanted and captured domestic animals and transport them to the appropriate destination. We perform emergency animal rescue service, emergency night call service, and animal first aid when required. We also set traps to capture evasive domestic and feral animals.
If your dog or cat has run away, please contact the Town of Pinedale Animal Control to see if your pet was brought in to our facility. A lot of animals are brought in over holiday weekends and after thunder storms. Please also be aware that we will hold them for you for five days. If the dog or cat has not been claimed within five days, then it is eligible for adoption. The Town of Pinedale does not practice euthanasia; instead we find suitable homes for all animals as soon as possible.
