Woof! Meow! One thing before you go…
Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?
Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!

Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?
No-kill shelters do wonderful work, but as a result, are often inundated with pet surrenders. In the unfortunate scenario that you have to find a new home for your pet, please read through the rehoming solution and articles on this page before contacting the shelter.

CASA lists stray pets at the shelter online and maintains lost and found reports in the shelter too. Staff and volunteers are also members of many social media outlets helping and publicizing lost and found animals across the state.

CASA needs more people willing to help them. They are little, but they can help so many more with an increase in people wanting to volunteer.

CASA works very hard to keep animals OUT of the shelter. They offer courtesy listings online for altered animals who need placement, but can stay in their home until then. They also offer pet food-bank services and consult on common pet issues that might lead to surrendering.

CASA works with the pubic to help feral and free-roaming cats by offering traps, trapping assistance and matching them up with free spay and neuter services and occasional alternate placement when their capture site was unsafe. CASA wishes they were large enough to do in-house s/n and offer this service to the community.
