Woof! Meow! One thing before you go…
Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?
Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!

Adoptable Pets in Montana

We are a no-kill shelter, with an open-door policy. There is no charge, nor judgment, if you need to drop off a stray that youve found, or a beloved pet that is no longer able to stay with its family, no matter the situation. We serve several different counties around Southwest Montana, and network with other shelters in the Rocky Mountain West, working together to help the animals in our care get the best chance of finding a new home.
Our Mission:
At Beaverhead Animal Shelter, we believe in a full and enriched life for all; humans and animals alike. We strive to provide the animals in our care a positive environment until they can be placed in their new homes. We welcome our community to walk alongside us and experience the joy of helping an animal first-hand. We extend our belief beyond the shelter walls to provide resources and support for pets and their families in our community.
