Woof! Meow! One thing before you go…
Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?
Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!

Pet Adoption League, which began as the Pound Animal League in 1988, is a non - profit organization focused on the care and welfare of all domestic dogs and cats. Originally a loose conglomeration of foster families, PAL is now housed in a shelter acquired in 2004. Located in Emmett, PAL serves Gem County and the surrounding areas. It is estimated that during the past 4 years, PAL has helped reduce the county and city euthanization rates by eighty percent. In 2018 PAL was able to add a whole new cat facility. We are always looking for new ways to improve our shelter so it is safe and comfortable for our pets as they await their new forever home.
