Underdog Animal Society

We are a small senior dog sanctuary and rescue that also has several cats on our property and helps out in the community with other animal oriented needs. The senior animals that we pull from shelters will live in a "home-style" environment until they are adopted to their forever home or if need be they will spend the rest of their days with us. We take seniors under 25lbs and over the age of ten from shelters that are at risk of being euthanized due to small behavior or medical problems typically stemming from neglect/abuse. Seniors with these problems usually take too much time to get adopted at shelters and also take space from a dog that may be able to find a home faster. We take those seniors and get them the medical attention they need and then work on their self esteem and behavior issues until they are ready to be adopted. We do not have "perfect" animals up for adoption so if that is what you are looking for this may not be the right rescue for you but our animals are perfect for someone. =) We do not regularly promote the dogs we have available for adoption as we area sanctuary and hospice and they can stay as long as needed but we will adopt these special pups out to that individual that will be able to fully meet their needs.
