Woof! Meow! One thing before you go…

Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?

Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!

Animal Lifeline is a registered charity founded over 30 years ago. It's purpose is simple - to save dogs from neglect, cruelty and needless destruction and find them new and caring homes. Animal Lifeline rescues and rehomes around 400 dogs each year, making it the largest voluntary rehoming agency in the region. It normally has over 100 dogs and puppies in its care.

Our Policy

Animal Lifeline has a policy to NEVER have dogs put down. All animals are looked after until rehomed, some will never find a home - and we love and look after them for the rest of their lives.
