RSPCA Preston & District Branch is a separate Registered Charity. We get no funding from the national society, the Government or other sources. We rely on the generosity of the local people. It currently costs over £400,000 anually to run the Animal Centre. We are licensed to hold dogs, cats, rabbits and other small animals.

We take in stray dogs from the Council, unwanted animals from the public and cruelty cases from the Inspectorate. We have a non-destruction policy, unless the animal is extremely sick or dangerous and cannot be rehomed. Our main goal is to take in unwanted animals and find them new permanent loving homes; this is sometimes very difficult as they may already have behavioural problems, but we work very hard to address these before the animals leave us. Please remember it takes time for any animal to settle in to its new home, so please be patient.
