Woof! Meow! One thing before you go…
Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?
Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!

Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?
No-kill shelters do wonderful work, but as a result, are often inundated with pet surrenders. In the unfortunate scenario that you have to find a new home for your pet, please read through the rehoming solution and articles on this page before contacting the shelter.

I recently lost my miniature dachshund due to health issues. After three weeks my brother sent me a picture of a little dog up for adoption. I called the shelter, asked many questions about her and paid her deposit on Wednesday the 5th, she was at the vets the next day getting spayed, rabies shot and a thorough checkup. Due to the travel distance and my neuropathy, a volunteer agreed to meet us almost halfway. We brought Halle home yesterday and the house is full of life again. I actually looked forward to getting out of bed this morning. I also learned through a friend that no-kill shelters get NO support from the humane society, peta or anyone else. They operate completely from donations and volenteer work. I've read almost all of their reviews..some were not kind. They are doing the best they can with what they have to find those fur babies wonderful, permanent homes. Sure, some times the shelter may have an odor but with at least 150 dogs and I don't know how many cats, those people are working hard just to make sure everyone gets fed and outside for a little bit. Maybe someone went to the shelter before cleaning time. So please, before anyone writes an unpleasant review, think about that. Perhaps offer some of your time to help out. We are so happy with our new baby and Heaven forbid anything should ever happen to her, Golden Paws will be the first ones I call. Please find it in your heart to donate to the no kill shelters. They work long hours, they drove 2 hours to get Halle to us to save my back a lot of pain. In closing I say this. .God bless the rescues.
