Woof! Meow! One thing before you go…
Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?
Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!

Adoptable Pets in Missouri
(report broken link)
The Callaway County Humane Society is a resource in Callaway County for abandoned and homeless domesticated animals. We believe we can help to enrich the lives of our communty and their families through adoption services, lost and found reports, emergency food donations, education, and the prevention of cruelty by executing rescues.
At the heart of our organization is the vision that each animal impacted by us finds a permanent, compassionate home. We believe in a community in which people and animals are enriched by their special bond with one another, and where cruelty towards animals no longer exists. With this clear and unified understanding of our purpose, direction, and path we set out our core values.
CCHS does not have a building at which to keep animals. All of our animals are in loving foster homes.
