Woof! Meow! One thing before you go…
Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?
Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!

Brisbane Valley Cat Rescue was formed because this area is growing at a very fast rate and I saw the need for a local re-homing centre for cats and kittens. With many people being forced by unforeseen circumstances to either relocate for work reasons, move into retirement villages or other rental accomodation, they often find that their beloved pets are not welcome in the new location. It is then left up to well meaning neighbours or friends to help find new homes for these cats and or kittens. In some cases the pets are simply left behind or dumped in the surrounding countryside. Sometimes the pet ends up being euthanised much to the owners distress, simply because they have run out of time to find a new home or shelter accomodation for it, and they are unwilling to abandon it to an uncertain future.
BVCR advocates a NO KILL policy except where animals are suffering due to severe illness or injury or are mentally unfit for adoption. Every effort will be made to find suitable homes for all my feline charges and in the event that a permanent home cannot be found it will become a permanent resident for as long as it takes.
BVCR is located between Esk, Gatton and Lowood.
