The story of "Unknown" in Tennessee

I was able to locate the dog's owner yesterday evening. After getting him water, food and letting him rest in the shade for a couple of hours; I decided to give him a bath as him was filthy. As I was hosing him off and cleaning his neck and collar I noticed his name (Bosco) was written on his collar. So I spun his collar around his neck and washed off more dirt I found his owners phone number. After calling and texting the number I received a text back telling me that Bosco was his dog and he would come by and pick Bosco up. When the owner arrived we spoke about the distance Bosco had traveled which was approximately 2 1/2 miles away. The owner told we Bosco had been missing for 3 days and he was starting to give up hope of finding Bosco. He also told me that Bosco had lost an elderly companion dog that that had pass away 2 weeks earlier. As I the owner told me the story we came to the conclusion that Bosco was out looking for his friend as Bosco had never wondered away from home in the past. Also when I found his he appeared to be heading back towards his home. For everyone out there if you love your pets make sure your contact information is attached to your pet. If Bosco's owner didn't have his number they still wouldn't have been reunited. This incident turned out to have a very happy ending. The owner was very excited to get Bosco back home and safe.
