I just went to let the dogs out, and as I was calling them back in, I heard faint meowing. It grew louder as I called his name, and sure enough, Benny was across the yard staring at me. I carefully walked over, barefoot on the cold, wet ground, set my light down, sat on the ground, and let him come to me, grabbing him the moment he got close. He was so scared. We spent days searching the neighborhood, hanging signs, and sending out alerts. Thank you to everyone who helped look for him and shared advice. I had put out dirty clothes, litter, and a stinky can of tuna. Now, after four days away, he’s finally home safe. He’ll soon have a vet visit, getting microchipped, and an AirTag collar. We are whole again.
