I put flyers in aall of my neighbors' mailboxes with our name and numbers. One of our neighbor's dog was constantly looking for him, Marley, was transfixed on something. The dog's owner went to see what it was. They recognized my cat, but he ran into a crawl area under their house. They called us to let us know that they think they found Oreo and he is under their house. I went their with food. I crawled in the crawl space with food. When I saw him, I knew it was our cat. I put the food near him. Then he started meowing very loudly. I was able to grab him and carry him home. He was meowing very loudly all the way home for his is a talkative cat.
