After about 154 total hours of worrying absence, our Oreo was caught wandering in our backyard crying and then immediately brought inside to be attended to thoroughly, with no present injuries or illnesses even upon examination. We will now consider damage control to keep this from happening again, namely getting him chipped and kept indoors from now on.
