He was in the basement the whole time scared out of his mind in a hole in the wall he found. Didn't make a sound for 48 hours. Thankfully his brother was persistent in wanting to go downstairs every day. I feel stupid but also glad it was this instead of him being out in the below 0 cold. Lots of lessons learned in this experience and I'll be taking it all to heart.
