Thanks to the help of the many people that were calling in sightings I was able to keep tabs on Max's location. I was able to set up feeding stations to keep him in a safe area until he could hopefully calm down and come out of his 'fight or flight' mode. The normal techniques weren't working. He was able to come out of his survival mode due in large part to our niece's dog Tequila. To make a long story short, she was able to approach him and he started to show signs of relaxing, and the two of them then approached us. He is now resting at home safely until we can get him in to the vet to have a general checkup on him.
