The story of "Mittens" in Illinois

UPDATE: REUNITED! WE GOT HIM BACK! Thanks to the One Goal Animal Foundation, we found him Tuesday morning in the trap they set up! https://www.facebook.com/onegoalanimalfoundation/ They seem to be located in the South Suburbs/Chicago, Illinois. He was gone for around 9-10 days all out on his own. We took him to the vet and he has 4 broken nails but he will be fine. He was so hungry and very tired from his journey but he is safe now. It was so hard without him and we got very discouraged every coming day but Shannon from the foundation kept encouraging us. If you have a lost pet you should try to see if they can help you by messaging them on Facebook or set a trap up yourself. We put up flyers, used the internet, and tried looking for him, (it's hard to find a cat by looking for them). For us it is the trap that did it. Even with the coyotes and other animals I've seen exactly where he got out, he still somehow made it and yours could of as well. Last word about these great people @ One Goal Animal Foundation. I first came in contact with them when I made a Facebook post about Mittens. I spoke with them and then the next day Shannon swooped by in the middle of the night by my place, a stranger's residence, and set up the trap. Throughout the process, they came by to check the trap and even looked for him themselves a bit talking to neighbors. I never had to ask them for anything. They seriously do have one goal, helping animals. They NEVER EVEN ASKED FOR A DIME! If you are looking for a cause to support, I can recommend no better place. For me, they were the shining piece of humanity Mittens and I desperately needed.
