Woof! Meow! One thing before you go…
Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?
Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!

Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?
No-kill shelters do wonderful work, but as a result, are often inundated with pet surrenders. In the unfortunate scenario that you have to find a new home for your pet, please read through the rehoming solution and articles on this page before contacting the shelter.

On My Way Home Dachshund Rescue is an amazing group of people. We adopted our chihuahua from them and I don’t have enough good things to say about them. We have had our little guy Dickey for some years now. He is truly a part of our family and I am beyond grateful every day that On My Way Home rescued him, fostered him, and allowed him to find his forever family with us.

This is the worst place to leave your animal if you love your animals please do not leave your animal with Stephanie she is a narcissist rude and very very very disrespectful everything you tell her she will use that against you and try to throw in your face to make you feel like a bad person when you’re looking for a non-kill shelter for your animal please read the text messages she has sent to me in my time of need looking for a loving family for my animals she is a horrible woman and she should be fired and she should not work for this company she gives this company a horrible horrible DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE..... THIS IS THE TEXT THAT WAS SENT TO ME FROM ONE OF THE REPS WORKING FOR THEM I WILL POST HER FULL NAME.. Stephanie Gregerson, SHE IS RUDE AND IMMATURE AND NOT PROFESSIONAL.. SHE NAME CALLS LIKE A CHILD AND NEEDS TO GROW UP..... SHE DOES NOT KNOW MY LIFE SO TO TRY TO TELL ME ABOUT MY LIFE IS WRONG ON HER PART!!!! SHE IS A HORRIBLE PERSON AND WOULD NEVER TRUST MY ANIMAL WITH HER . PLEASE PROTECT YOUR BABIES PLEASE DON'T USE THEM!!!!!! HER PHONE ENDS IN 212 DONT USE HER Stephanie Gregerson, THIS IS HER TEXT TOO ME....... Don't you dare try to place your decision to kill your dog upon me, you selfish, inconsiderate, and uncaring human. What was the rush? You had her from a puppy for 16 years. She was hurting, yet you did nothing to alleviate her pain. You gave her no pain medication...no supplements. A senior who was clearly struggling to go up and down stairs and you didn't find a way to pick her up to provide her with pain relief. Instead of taking care of her, you contact a perfect stranger to provide the care that was your responsibility. You give this stranger less than 8 hours to take over a 16 year responsibility. A plan was being put into place but you couldn't wait for that, could you? Your patience was at an end and you took her and killed her. Were you even there for her at the end? Did you hold her and look into her eyes as she died? Or did you just give her to the staff and of the vet office for shelter to have her die alone with strangers, afraid and looking around frantically for her family? I suspect it was the latter. Hang onto that memory for a lifetime. How about this? Instead of placing blame inappropriately on a stranger, let's put it back where it belongs...with you. Let's dissect the real problem that you were having, shall we? Let me tell you what I know about what happened. Your girl was a dachshund...a breed notorious for having pottying issues. And she was very old. And she was limping, with great difficulty walking, by your own admission. Yet every time she to potty, she had to find a way to go up and down stairs just to relieve herself. Your 16 year old girl (who you said broke her hip and had to have surgery years ago) was in pain. Ext
