Woof! Meow! One thing before you go…
Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?
Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!

Yes they do take in and foster each cat or dog in different foster homes. I am uncertain how much regulations these foster homes have to be accepting in foster kitty's and puppy's as my cat came from a foster home that had 10 other animals in the house. I did not think this was a big deal until I took my cat home and started noticing some major health issues as well as very bad litter box issues that only took me a very short time to notice after bringing my cat home. Any foster caretaker would have noticed this if they had the time to focus on each animal they take in.

Overall I think Aarcs is really trying to do a good thing for the community and the left behind cats and dogs. I just think they need more organization and record keeping, as well as better foster home regulations and guidelines.

I received 3 sets of medial records and none of them matched. There was a big inconsistency in all of them. In the end, I had to share my frustration which then prompted them to send me a final set of medical records. I found this to be very disorganized. They do not track any of the vaccine information other than the name of it so do not expect to have complete records for your pet. Neither Aarcs nor the foster parent noticed my cats bad litter box behaviours. In fact I was told that she was completely litter box trained.

I do like how they did an interview and asked many questions before approving me to adopt my cat.

As I mentioned already, my cat's foster home did not notice any of the major health issues nor any of the bad litter box behaviours. There should be some guild lines or regulations on being a foster home. I was told my cat received all their shots and dewormer which is interesting as my cat is dealing with only issues that a cat without shots or dewormer would have!
