About this Dog
Dewey is a sweet but aloof 4 year old boy who wasn't reclaimed by an owner. He is shy and still warming up to us so we don't know much about him yet. Judging by his cute little ears and aloof nature we suspect he is a Shar Pei mix- a generally independent but very loving & loyal breed! He is the quietest dog we have in our care, and he has no reaction to other dogs. Cats and young kids are unknown But kids 10+ usually have respectful manners for any dog. He likes to sniff around and investigate, but is pretty independent and doesn’t mind just laying by himself outside soaking up the sun. If you would like to meet me, please visit our website and complete the pre-adoption application. Once it has been processed then we can make a date to get together! All dogs are spayed/neutered, heartworm tested (if over 2 years old), vaccinated, dewormed, flea and tick treated, microchipped and more before adoption. Our adoption policies include: Application, Vet Reference, Landlord approval & Criminal Background Check. We do not do same day adoptions. We request that you call for an appointment after your application has been approved to come and visit the dog of your choice. For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Dewey was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Dewey’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Dewey’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Dewey’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
