About Me: Name: Magical Sapphire Breed (or best guess): Mixed - possibly German Shepherd/Cattle Dog Approximate Age: 8 months Gender: Female Approximate Weight: 32 lb Adoption Fee: $495 each Requirements: Loving Family with patience Why In Rescue: Texas Transfer Profile: Magical Sapphire came to us from our Texas rescue partner where she was waiting for a rescue for months. She is bigger than the usual dogs we rescue but she deserved a chance at life and her time was up in Texas. She spent most of her time living in an outside kennel, so living inside is new to her. She does alert bark to people she doesn't know, and needs a bit of time to become comfortable with new people, but she is a great dog who just needs a chance! Don't delay in filling out the pre-adoption application so you can meet one of these cute dogs! We do put the needs of each particular dog first, so it is nothing personal if we determine a specific dog isn't suitable for your home or living situation. We do our best to evaluate the dogs while they are with us, but they sometimes act different in the shelter environment than they do in a home. Many times we do not know the actual breed/mix or age of the dog, in that case we use our best guess as to breed and age. We are located in Mukwonago, WI. Adopters must come to us, we do not ship our dogs. Please do not apply for a dog until you are ready to adopt. Once an application is approved you will be notified by email to make an appointment to meet the dog. All dogs are seen by appointment only. The adoption fee through Bichon and Little Buddies Rescue is $495 for most adults and up to $650 for puppies which includes Wi State Sales Tax. Included in this fee is your new companion who will be spayed/neutered, have a current Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (as required by state law), current on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested (if old enough) and started on preventative, microchipped, and given a general wormer. Other medical needs will also have been taken care of, such as dentals and treating ear infections. To assist you and your new pet in adjusting to life together, you may chose to take an 8 week age appropriate obedience training course at For Pet's Sake Dog Training in Mukwonago, WI for $100 (up to $260 value). You may opt to take Puppy Kindergarten, Adult Beginners, or Small Dogs Big Hearts. You must register for the class within 90 days of adoption for the reduced fee. For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Magical Sapphire was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Magical Sapphire’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Magical Sapphire’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Magical Sapphire’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
