About this Cat
Dakota is our longest shelter resident, so if you are looking for the cat that probably needs you the most, it is Dakota. She came to us as a kitten, with two other kittens who were adopted. Dakota falls into two categories that have slowed her chances for adoption, she is a black cat, and she is a shy cat. She tends to become invisible when new people come into the shelter. However, Dakota is friendly, if you approach her somewhat slowly, she loves to pet and will even lean into your hand as you do. Dakota also enjoys peace, quiet, and consistency. Most days she can be found in the same room (rm 5) handing out with the same cats (Grommet and Salem). She loves those two cats, they have formed a beautiful bond, that helps them all feel safe and accepted. Dakota (and all of our shy kitties) are just looking for a safe place to land and someone that will give her time to find the same sort of safety and acceptance she has with the room 5 crew. **Please consider Dakota, this beautiful soul has as waited a long time to find her family. She is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. If you would like to give a chance to a cat who needs you please go to our website littleorphansanimalrescue.org and fill out an adoption application.

Adopt Dakota and Receive Dakota's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Dakota's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Dakota's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Dakota, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Dakota's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Dakota was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Dakota’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Dakota’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Dakota’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
