About this Cat
Meet Olivia May. Take a moment to admire her beautiful colors, fluffy coat, and sparkle in her eyes. Don't miss her adoring looks as you look at her. Olivia May is one of the sweetest girls you will ever meet. She loves being loved and she loves giving love. Olivia wants everything to do with being held and cuddled all day long. She is looking for a home that has lots of love and time to give to her. The best home would be one where her humans are home the majority of the day. She not only loves her humans, she also loves dogs (both big and small). Olivia May does not enjoy the company of other cats, as she really prefers to run the house herself. Olivia May is a very independent gal who can make a toy out of anything in the house. She enjoys self-play but will play with a fishing toy on her terms. Now this may sound like Olivia May is the perfect cat, which she is. But, you are probably wondering why it says she's special needs. Let's get to those items but don't let them deter you because she is pretty perfect. Olivia May has had a tough beginning with medical issues. Upon being returned to her foster home after 18 months of being in her adopted home, there were a lot of physical concerns happening that the vets had to unpack. Olivia May has a break in her tail at the base which does cause her pain once in a while. Additionally, she had a severe bladder infection when she came back to us that we did get cleared up right away. Unfortunately, both of these issues have left their fair share of trauma. Olivia May is afraid of the litter box and will run away from it after she uses it. This fear sometimes causes her to have accidents, but she is pretty good at using a combination of potty pads and litter boxes. Olivia May is being treated with Bicom treatments in Green Bay every 3 weeks to help her work through her trauma from these events. She will need to continue these treatments for a while to maintain a healthy mental state. She also has laser treatments for her hips and tail every three weeks for pain management. Additionally, Olivia May is on 2 supplements for her digestive tract health that she will need to remain on. Those can be purchased online. Wow, it seems that was a lot and it seems that way until you realize what a perfect family member she can be. Before you submit an application to have Olivia May join your family, please see the recap of what Olivia will need from her furever family. A quiet, home where her humans are home the majority of the day (preferably no young kids due to the tail break) A home without any cats but dogs are welcomed A family who is understanding that she does have accidents but with treatment, she is getting better A family that can commit to continuing her mental health journey through Bicom treatments and her pain management treatments. These treatments take place at a vet in Green Bay every 3 weeks and cost about $250 each treatment. As she continues to improve and move through the treatment, they will be less frequent. Provide her supplements twice per day for her digestive tract health and continue her current food (she is allergic to multiple foods, but we know what they are, which is awesome) Provide multiple different types of litter boxes, along with providing her potty pads (she currently accepts the reusable type) Have a warm lap, cozy blanket, and lots of love to give her Olivia's foster mom is available for questions and more information.
