About this Cat
Our toddler was recently diagnosed with a pretty severe allergy to cat dander. Sadly, we will need to rehome our 8-year-old American longhair female cat, Rosario or “Rosie.” We’ve had her since she was 8 weeks old. She is healthy and has received nearly annual physicals her entire life. She is spayed.
Rosie does NOT get along with other cats, but loves her people. She tolerates our toddler, but would probably prefer a home with older children or just adults. It’s not known how she deals with dogs.
Rosie was originally adopted along with her sister by us from the Dane County Humane Society when we lived in Madison. Rosie’s sister died suddenly from an unknown heart condition two years ago, which was tragic for her and our family. We feel awful that we will now upend Rosie’s life again, but she loves people and will adapt with an affectionate, cuddly family. She loves windows, sitting on laps, and being the little spoon in your bed at night.

How will Rosario “Rosie” receive the contribution?
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Rosario “Rosie”, thank you for providing a home and a loving family! Please begin the process of claiming Rosario “Rosie”'s contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Rosario “Rosie” was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Rosario “Rosie”’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
What happens to unclaimed funds?
We want the Rosario “Rosie”’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Rosario “Rosie”’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
