About this Dog
Meet Roach! (From The Witcher series) Handsome Roach is a 2y 7m neutered male Malinois with a big personality in a smaller package. At only 58lbs, he is an active guy who burns off any weight that he puts on. Roach finds himself needing to be rehomed. He needs a forever home where he is an only dog. A home with a senior, dog that does not get excited or play is ok as well. He lacks the intuition of knowing when he is being too rough and when to lighten up. He will feed off the excitement of another dog and this leads to a fight. This is NOT something that he will ever outgrow . It is inherent in Roach. His current home has exhausted all efforts to make this work and it is something that they can no longer do . Roach does very well in the house and is crate trained. However, you cannot leave socks, small objects where he can get them because he will eat/swallow them in a hot minute. He does not wander the house looking for things to chew, but left unattended he will counter surf or chew/eat a shoe or look for something (like a sock or hair scrunchie) in boredom. He thrives on routine and structure as most dogs do. He is wicked smart and catches on very quickly! He is 100% BOY and has high prey drive so training is done on long lines. It is not advised that he be placed in a home with cats or small animals due to his prey drive. He has basic obedience. He does well on car rides and has been to the beach a few times. Roach will thrive being an only dog and be your absolute best friend and faithful companion. He needs consistent and clear direction along with continued training. Please know that his current home is heartbroken that they have to rehome him. If you feel that you can give Roach the love and home that he needs, please go to his application to get started. Please email his coordinator, Maryfrances with questions.
