About this Dog

Hi I am writing to see if you are able to help me rehome my parents dog, Willow. I hate to even have to do this but My parents are both getting older and are at a fall risk. In fact my father is in the hospital at the moment from a fall a couple of weeks ago that shattered his T12 vertebra. The dog they have is a mixed breed that was rescued from the pound about 4 years ago. When she was first brought home we did notice she was a little afraid around men. She did fine with women and children and other pets. After a while she did fine around my son and my father. My parents health has declined and it is impossible for them to care for her safety. And I will admit they are not able to give her the care she deserves. During the past six months the dog, Willow has shown some aggressive issues. I feel it’s because she is not getting the love and attention she needs. She has never bit anyone or anything but she will growl and bark and try to go after strange people (men mostly). I feel this will only get worse as time goes and they can no longer play outside with her and things. She was crate trained in the beginning but as time went my mom didn’t want her kept in a crate so she just transitioned to staying out when inside and she is definitely house trained. She goes out for the most part of the day when the weather is good but she is inside during the night and when we have bad weather. Again I hate to even have to do this but we all agree my parents can no longer care for her and they agree also. She can be a very sweet dog with the right person. I can not take her myself because we already have a dog and our does not do well with other pets at all. My father’s goal date from the hospital is to be home by April 2nd. He will be coming home wearing a back brace and we are having to get the house handicap accessible. If you are able to help me at all I would greatly appreciate it. We do not want to see Willow put down or anything. She truly is a good dog and just needs a good loving home. Thank you.

Adopt Willow and Receive Dogecoin

Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Willow's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).

How will Willow receive the Dogecoin?

The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Willow, thank you for providing a home and a loving family! Please begin the process of claiming Willow's Dogecoin here.

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.

The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Willow was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Willow’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

What happens to unclaimed funds?

We want the Willow’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Willow’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
