About this Dog
I need to find a new home for my dog Obi. He is 6 years old. He was rescued in 2020 from Meigs County where he was assumed to be around a year and a half old. Not sure of his exact breed, but he appears to be a mix of terrier and something wirehaired. He’s super sweet with me and a couple other people, but he’s protective at the house and is reactive around people and other animals. He was boarded recently and did great, but was not around other dogs. He tolerates my 2-year-old to a degree and hasn’t hurt him yet, but definitely shows signs of aggression if he gets too close, especially around food. I would love for him to be with someone willing to work with him, such as a trainer, but I definitely wouldn’t feel comfortable with him being around kids or other animals. He just had all of his vaccinations a couple months ago. I just want to make sure he isn't thrown right back into a shelter or on the street.

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Obi was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Obi’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Obi’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Obi’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
