Dogs make us happy every day through the funny things they do, the way they act when we get home, or how they seem to know when we need something as simple as the comfort of their paw in our lap. We provide the essentials for them in their life and I'd argue they do the same for us in many different ways. Glinda is an enjoyable hound mix that we met a few weeks ago. She is lovable, medium to low energy, and just barely gets a passing grade on her leash work. I don't hold this against her though. This is a girl who was used to being tied out to a dog box at her old home. So she did just fine for me and I cherished the time we shared together. On our way back this time, Glinda pretended to forget where we started and tried to convince me our walk wasn't over and that maybe we should get in that car and drive away. I feel for this beautiful soul. I want her to succeed and find a home. I want her to find someone who appreciates her as a companion and not as a tool or a lawn ornament. Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Glinda's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Glinda was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Glinda’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Glinda’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Glinda’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
