About this Dog
ATTICUS FINCH When you go to create a post, it asks you "What's on your mind. " As I read it this time, I was staring into these compromised eyes, so I did have something on my mind. How could a dog with so much promise, so much to give, end up having such a rough time finding peace. Atticus came from what could best be described as poor living conditions. He lived with seven dogs tied up outside around a house who shared in his distress. Three more were inside. Look at him and ask yourself how… I did. I was intrigued right away by his name and learned that he hadn’t been given one. So Rachel, inspired by a favorite novel, gave him one. How fitting that she chose such a strong character in literature to honor a dog who is up against all odds and doesn’t seem to be giving up anytime soon. Atticus Finch, the dog, is humble and calm. He desires and adores attention and seems oblivious to the troubles of his past. His vision is, unfortunately, limited for unknown reasons and not much is known of him other than he is now in the hands of people who care. He hasn’t been at the shelter for long and hasn’t been vetted yet. I can tell you that this dog is still ready to trust and begin his life again. Please consider adopting him. "Courage is when you know you're licked before you begin, but you begin anyway" - A.F. Please feel free to call the shelter with any questions you may have, to schedule a meet and greet, or for details about their adoption process. Pam Ferrell or Rachel Lilze will be happy to answer any questions. Adopt Atticus Finch and Receive Atticus Finch's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Atticus Finch's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Atticus Finch's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Atticus Finch, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Atticus Finch's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Atticus Finch was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Atticus Finch’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Atticus Finch’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Atticus Finch’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
