He is a friendly and sweet boy. He loves people, affection and playing. He will happily follow you around all day in exchange for some play and affection. He is on the higher energy side, so needs a more active home. Jack has lived in two apartment homes, but was returned over interactions with small dogs. Jack would do best in a house with a fenced yard and an adopter who is willing to continue his training. Our trainers have worked with him and as long as his handlers practice disengagement with him when he is around exciting stimuli, he has perfect leash skills. Jack did live with another greyhound in a previous home and did fine. He also interacts well with other greyhounds at our kennel as long as they match his energy level. Jack will need a home without cats or medium to small dogs. We don't know how he would do with children, but he may do better with older children just because he is very playful and can easily knock someone over. For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Jack was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Jack’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Jack’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Jack’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
