About this Dog
Animal Profile: Liam (now Astro) is an estimated two year old lab/husky mix who will be joining us from California early 2025. This handsome blue eyed guy is good with dogs and kids and is so looking forward to meeting his new family this year! Foster Update: Astro is a really sweet dog! He is eager to play and is friendly with dogs and people. He knows basic commands like sit and down, and is working on his leash manners. He does pull on leash, especially when he sees a critter, but he will settle and patiently sit right at your side while you chat with friends. He is food motivated which will help with his ongoing training as he is still learning some house manners such as not jumping up. Astro will bark for a few minutes when left alone in his crate but settles down quickly and is not overly vocal otherwise. He is a fairly high energy dog and would love another playful dog in his home, but would do fine as an only dog with an active family. His favorite spot is the sunny window seat, where he will happily spend the afternoon watching all the action in the yard. Astro is comfortable in the car so if you're looking for an adventurous pup to hike and explore the PNW Astro may be your guy! Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, and health certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue. Adopt Astro and Receive Astro's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Astro's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Astro's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Astro, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Astro's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Astro was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Astro’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Astro’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Astro’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
