About this Dog
Animal Profile: Meet Poppy! Poppy and her sister were found living in the woods with their mom and were rescued by our incredible rescue partner Saving Shelter Strays who gave them the second chance they so desperately needed. They've spent the past few weeks in a loving TX foster home and are healthy and thriving. They are ready for their bus ride to WA! Foster Update: Poppy is a sweet, sensitive soul looking for a patient and loving forever home. She’s a bit anxious at first, but with a little time, some tasty treats, and gentle presence, she’ll start to trust and open up. What Poppy Needs: A calm environment with minimal loud noises or sudden movements. A gentle introduction—she feels safest when she can sniff you before getting pets. A cozy hiding spot where she can retreat and feel secure. Lots of love, soft words, and attention—she absolutely thrives when spoken to and made to feel seen. Her Favorite Things: Treats (they’re the key to her heart!). Quiet companionship. Being talked to like she’s part of the family. Slow, patient walks with plenty of encouragement Poppy may take a little time to come out of her shell, but once she does, you’ll see a loyal and affectionate companion who just wants to be loved. If you’re someone who understands that trust takes time and is ready to offer her a safe space to grow, Poppy could be your perfect match. Poppy will need a home with an experienced dog owner, another balanced dog in the home for her to learn from and a single family home with a securely fenced yard. We are not considering first time dog owners or Apartments for her at this time. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575, which includes spay/neuter, current vaccinations per AVMA standards, microchip, negative heartworm test if over 6 months, and health certificate. Your donation may be tax deductible as DG is a 501c3 organization. Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was rescued in partnership with Saving Shelter Strays in Texas and arriving to Seattle area foster care via Saving Shelter Strays Transport arriving on 07/28. This dog will be fostered in the greater Seattle area and available for adoption once evaluated.

Adopt Poppy and Receive Poppy's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Poppy's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Poppy's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Poppy, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Poppy's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Poppy was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Poppy’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Poppy’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Poppy’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
